Johnny Blanchard, a member of two World Series championship teams with the New York Yankees, died Monday. He was 76. Blanchard died from a heart attack early Monday morning at his home. Blanchard spent parts of seven seasons with the Yankees from 1955 to 1965, compiling a .345 batting average in World Series play. He was a career .239 hitter in eight seasons in the majors.
