Lampton schoolgirls thanked for saving heart attack victim

"Three schoolgirl heroes who saved a heart attack victim were invited to the UK Parliament last week. Sukhmani Dev, Afsha Ghafoor and Sunaina Kashap, all 15, from Lampton School, Hounslow, were congratulated by MP Alan Keen for saving the life of a 65-year-old man who collapsed on the street near their school. Sukhmani said: 'It was just before half term. One of my friends spotted this old man in Sutton Dene Street who looked a bit wobbly. We went and asked him if he was ok. He was complaining about his heart, then he collapsed.' Reacting quickly, Afsha called an ambulance while Sukhmani and Sunaina spoke to the man, keeping him awake and reassuring him that he was going to be ok. Afsha said: 'I dialled 999 and asked for an ambulance. A policeman came along and helped us out, he also called for an ambulance. 'Afterwards he said that we should be proud of ourselves for saving that man's life. It was a nerve-racking experience'" - Hounslow Guardian
