Study: a whole grain diet can lower risk of heart disease as much as prescription drugs

"In 2008, the General Mills Bell Institute of Health concluded research suggesting that incorporating whole grain foods into a reduced calorie diet can result in lowering risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome and heart disease. In fact, a whole grain diet can lower the risk of heart disease as much as the use of statin drugs"
