A son has issued a heartfelt thank you to two Good Samaritans who came to the rescue when his mother suffered a heart attack in the street. Marcel Hoad, of Sussex, believes the quick reactions of the two men saved his mother Alicia's life when she collapsed last Thursday morning after a shopping trip. Michael Gavin, 24, assistant duty manager at Westcroft Leisure Centre, was first to pull over when he drove by Mrs Hoad, 72, lying on the pavement on Wallace Crescent, Carshalton. He flagged down a passing police car and just as he found her breathing had stopped he was joined by Sutton Parks PC Martin Pratt who helped him carry out cardio pulmonary resuscitation. For seven minutes the pair worked on Mrs Hoad with the help of PC Adam Biswell. She was eventually taken to St Helier Hospital where she underwent emergency treatment for several hours before being transferred to Epsom General Hosptial's intensive care unit - Newsquest Media Group
