"Cynthia Pulver, 50, of Wausau and Linda Proft, 51, of Merrill have a lot in common. Both women have grown children, they love to spend time with their grandchildren and they work in the insurance industry. And they both have made strides in improving their health following heart attacks at mid-life. Proft had a heart attack in August 2006 at age 49; Pulver had two heart attacks shortly before Christmas. Each had multiple stents implanted to prop open blocked arteries. Both women quit smoking the days they had their heart attacks and they credit the long process of cardiac rehabilitation with helping them improve their lifestyles to reduce their risks of having more heart attacks." - Wausau Daily Herald
