CARG obituary: Augustine Mitchell
MITCHELL, Augustine Joseph (Mitch) Born August 1, 1936 at Outlook, SK. Joe passed away suddenly on March 5, 2009. He led a full and active life, enjoyed skiing and was a long-time member of the Canadian Ski Patrol, Batoche Region. His other passion in life was woodworking. He enjoyed teaching, sharing and demonstrating his knowledge as a member of the Woodworker's Guild of Saskatoon. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor; and sister, Margaret (Alex) Sobzcak. He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Fraser), their children Callum, Keegan and Connor; Carol (Charles), their children Lee and Sean; Patricia; and Heather (James), their children Rachel and Augustus; also survived by Beth Dueck, a special friend; his sister, Irene (Alex) Buye; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 436 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or St. Andrew's Church Memorial Fund, 426 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3G6.
