Cuttino Mobley announced his retirement Thursday at the Knicks' practice facility in Greenburgh, ending his 11-year career after being diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy - a thickening of the heart muscle that can lead to cardiac arrest. "The specialists made it clear that my heart condition has gotten worse and I can't continue to play professional basketball without putting my health and life in serious danger," said the 33-year-old shooting guard, who was traded to the Knicks from the Clippers three weeks ago as part of the Zach Randolph trade. "It's unpredictable, (but) when you play a sport at this high level, it's definitely a high risk."
